Agent Spotlight
Jason Garrison, Skender-Newton Realty
Experience: 6 Months
I found interest in real estate when I underwent being a client in May 2023. We chose Skender Newton Realty to represent us on the selling and buying side both due to the company reputation for being the top in our area and representing the client’s best interests over their own. We found this to be true in our own personal experience. During the buying process our then agent and now good friend, Missy, asked me for whatever reason if I’d ever considered being an agent. That started our wheels turning.
I had spent the last 8 years at Academy Sports which was a blessing for my family, but with my children growing up, I wanted a career that would give a possibility of more time with them. While working full time, I did online courses in real estate. SNR waited patiently for my completion and then I started finally in the office in March. I made it through my office training in a month and then was able to be placed in lead rotation.
With in a week or so after, I had the pleasure to help some friends go under contract on some land for their dream home. Six months in, I have sold over one million dollars in real estate in just six transactions , continue to learn from the greatest team in the Upper Cumberland, and have met and continue to help some amazing TN natives as well as newcomers from out of state.
I love this job! I love being able to help people find their home and ensure they find the best one for them. A prime example was a very wonderful lady from Georgia that was wanting a small cabin in the woods with acreage to give privacy. I helped her get under contract on the property, guided her thru inspections and the survey. When the survey revealed a big discrepancy in acres, we negotiated the price down accordingly. She closed on time and is now living there full time and is the happiest she can be. These stories are the best feeling and encouragement I could ever have.
