The next 30 days...
What if you got laser-focused on just one goal?
The start of a new year is the perfect time to hit the reset button and set yourself up for success in 2026. How will you approach the first big stretch of the year—January, a fresh 30-day window to set momentum?
What if you got laser-focused on just one goal for the next 30 days? How different would your business feel heading into the rest of the year?
Are you going to wing it and hope for the best? Or are you ready to execute a plan and start the year strong?
Here’s one of the easiest, most effective ways I know to kick off the New Year with focus and momentum. I’ve done this before with excellent results so we’re doing it again in January.
We all need help tuning out the noise and focusing only on what matters. Here’s how you do it:
Earl Nightingale’s 30-Day Goal Exercise
(from The Strangest Secret — if you haven’t read his work yet, now’s a great time!)
The idea is simple but powerful: dedicate yourself to one clearly defined goal for 30 days, and align your thoughts and actions around achieving it.
1. Pick One Goal
Write down a single, specific, measurable goal for the next 30 days. Keep it simple and carry it with you everywhere.
2. Focus Your Mind
Read it morning and night. Picture yourself achieving it.
“We become what we think about.”
3. Take Consistent Action
Every day, ask: “What can I do today to move closer?”
Do something daily, no matter how small.
4. Guard Your Thoughts
Refuse to give space to doubt or negativity. Feed your mind belief and persistence.
5. Stay the Course for 30 Days
No days off. No wavering. If you slip, start again. The discipline itself is the win.
👉 By the end of January, even if you don’t hit the goal perfectly, you’ll have reprogrammed your mindset, built focus, and created momentum—the most sacred thing in this business.
Today’s a good day to start the year right.

Jason Garrison
REALTOR, Listing Specialist
I found interest in real estate when I underwent being a client in May 2023. We chose Skender Newton Realty to represent us on the selling and buying side both due to the company reputation for being the top in our area and representing the client’s best interests over their own. We found this to be true in our own personal experience. During the buying process our then agent and now good friend, Missy, asked me for whatever reason if I’d ever considered being an agent. That started our wheels turning.
I had spent the last 8 years at Academy Sports which was a blessing for my family, but with my children growing up, I wanted a career that would give a possibility of more time with them. While working full time, I did online courses in real estate. SNR waited patiently for my completion and then I started finally in the office in March. I made it through my office training in a month and then was able to be placed in lead rotation.
With in a week or so after, I had the pleasure to help some friends go under contract on some land for their dream home. Six months in, I have sold over one million dollars in real estate in just six transactions , continue to learn from the greatest team in the Upper Cumberland, and have met and continue to help some amazing TN natives as well as newcomers from out of state.
I love this job! I love being able to help people find their home and ensure they find the best one for them. A prime example was a very wonderful lady from Georgia that was wanting a small cabin in the woods with acreage to give privacy. I helped her get under contract on the property, guided her thru inspections and the survey. When the survey revealed a big discrepancy in acres, we negotiated the price down accordingly. She closed on time and is now living there full time and is the happiest she can be. These stories are the best feeling and encouragement I could ever have.
