Three questions I get at every Holiday Party

Why is it that real estate always comes up at holiday parties? Honestly, I don’t start it! But someone’s gotta save the conversation from completely derailing…
Uncle Jerry’s three eggnogs deep and starting sentences with, “You know what’s wrong with this country?” while your cousin scrolls through political memes like she’s presenting evidence at trial. Next thing you know, someone leans in like it’s a secret and asks:
How’s the market doing?
When will rates finally drop?
Is the market going to crash?
That last one’s my favorite—apparently every neighbor’s cousin predicted the last three crashes that never happened. (Full disclosure: some Realtors predicted the same!)
Here’s the thing: real estate talk beats politics or religion any day—at least with houses, everyone leaves still friends.
REALTORS have a reputation for giving answers that help themselves. I challenge you to give answers that help the client instead. Next time someone asks about real estate at a party, lean in and say:
"Hey, I know the best REALTOR in ______ (city)."
Then follow up with them later—have an honest conversation, answer their questions, and actually help them, instead of the usual “maybe we’ll see” routine that benefits nobody.
Now go enjoy your eggnog, your ugly sweaters, and the holiday chaos!
